AC³ Wins Best Demo Award at NFV-SDN 2025
AC³ proudly participated in NFV-SDN 2025, held in November 2025 in Athens, Greece, contributing to Special Session 3: Agile and Cognitive Cloud-Edge Continuum Management. The session highlighted innovative research and practical advancements within the AC³ framework, reinforcing the project’s position at the forefront of cloud-edge continuum technologies.
A major highlight of the event was the demo “Scalable and Distributed Processing of 3D Astronomical Data Cubes for Galaxy Evolution Studies Using the AC³ Framework.” The work was presented by Mario Chamorro-Cazorla and Cristina Catalán-Torrecilla from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), together with Ray Carroll, Ben Capper, and Ryan Jenkins from Red Hat (Ireland).
The demo showcased how AC³ enables efficient, distributed processing of complex astronomical datasets, supporting cutting-edge galaxy evolution research. Its technical innovation and real-world scientific impact earned it the Best Demo Award, marking a significant achievement for the AC³ consortium.
This accomplishment highlights the strong collaboration between academic and industry partners within AC³ and demonstrates the framework’s potential to accelerate scientific discovery through advanced cloud-edge computing capabilities.
